Oscar Awards 2009 - List of Nominees

The complete list of nominees for the 81st Oscar Awards aka Academy Awards for 2009 are finally presented at the Oscar Awards official site. The big night will be aired live on Friday, February 22, 2009 at the Kodak Theatre, the permanent home of the Academy Awards. A little more than a month from now, I am sure the stars are frantically finding the perfect outfit for the red carpet.

Hugh Jackman (my love, teehee), will host the Awards ceremony this year.

Some of the nominees are predictable with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (starred by Brad Pitt) having the most nominations, a total of 13.

I never expected Anne Hathaway to receive any nomination, but indeed she gets noticed by the Academy this year with her lead role as Kym in Rachel Gets Married. Deservedly so as she has outdone herself with this family drama. Best actress in a lead role is the only nomination for the film.

Heathe Ledger also has a post-humous nomination with The Dark Knight. I have seen this one coming as the flick should have been titled The Joker.

Slumdog Millionaire has the 2nd most nomination, with 10 in all. After 2 recent wins from the Golden Globes Award and Critics Choice awards, let's see how this feel-good movie would fare on the Oscars.

Oscar is practically in bag for Wall E for best animated film, my favorite movie of last year. Yay!
